Consulting & Compounding
Clinical Pharmacy Services assists patients in achieving the best results from their prescription medicine therapies with minimal risk and inconvenience. Our pharmacists work with patients, their families, and their health care providers to provide accurate assessments and recommendations.
We provide individual and group consultations for the management of medications in disease states such as:
- Asthma
- Diabetes
- High cholesterol
- High blood pressure
- Osteoporosis
- Tobacco cessation
Pharmacy Services also offers a selection of health screening services such as body composition testing and osteoporosis testing.
Our pharmacists are fully-licensed practitioners as well as established faculty members at Midwestern University. We offer our pharmacy services by appointment only and may require a referral from a healthcare provider.
Compounding Pharmacy Services provides custom dosage prescription formulas for patients with specific medication needs. We prepare safe, quality, specialized prescriptions as an alternative for patients who have difficulty taking, or responding to, commercially available medications.
Compounded medications are commonly used to:
- Address allergy or dietary restrictions
- Combine multiple medications into a single preparation
- Change the form of the medication to make it easier to take
Pharmacy Services is a licensed pharmacy focusing on compounded medications and does not routinely dispense commercially available products. Once a prescription order is received, most compounded medications will be available within 48 to 72 hours unless special circumstances require a faster turn-around time.
